English helps create confident communicators, imaginative thinkers and informed citizens. Although Australia is a linguistically and culturally diverse country, participation in many aspects of Australian life depends on effective communication in Standard Australian English.

Teaching staff develop lessons around the three strands as found in the Australian Curriculum;

  • Language
  • Literature
  • Literacy

Students participate in regular English classes. Individualised activities based on students' ILP and are designed to develop students' skills in the areas of letter knowledge; spelling, reading, comprehension and writing just to name a few!

Here you can see students engaged in a variety of English tasks. Staff aim to develop lessons which appeal to all learning styles, specifically including visual and kinaesthetic learners as we know that this is most effective for many of those in our school community.
